Meet Darlene

LCSW LAC ACS CCFP RYT-500  EMDR Consultant

I  am an Advanced Integrated Liscened Clinical Social Worker and Addiction Counselor who is passionate about self care, trauma informed care and sustainability in careers.   I am an approved clinical supervisor (ACS) and national trainer of Motivational Interviewing (MINT), as well as an adjunct professor for the Graduate School of Social work at Denver University.  My mission is to offer support around wellness and recovery. I believe in whole person recovery and healing.  I include animal assisted interventions in my work as well as somatic healing. I am trained to deliver Acudetox as well as sound healing and sound baths.  Additionally I am  a certified group fitness instructor who teaches many formats of Zumba, MixxedFit, Yoga, and Tai Chi.  I am a certifed Empowerment Relief Instructor for chronic pain.  I specialize in program creation and consultation. For 16 years I have been working with communities to recover from trauma and substance use disorders. Recently I became I am a Certified Sacred Ceremonies facilitator.  I am a mother, daughter, wife and proud rural Colorado native.

My Purpose

My purpose is to create a healing community physically, mentally and spiritually.  I feel called to  support healers, therapists, and advocates though education and experiential retreats.

Therapist and Teacher

My name is Darlene Brace

I find it refreshing to teach and learn from each and every person I come into contact with.  As a therapist I offer a variety of healing tools EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Somatic /Body,  Emotionally Focused Therapy, Synergetic play therapy. art, nature, animals,  Acudetox, and when needed I may provide DBT or CBT, but I tend to be more mind body focused for healing. 

Clients who choose me for therapy are typically female identifying and LGBTQ+ people working through deep trauma, depression, anxiety, and addictions. I specialize in complex and childhood trauma as well as sexual healing and relationship empowerment.  I also have specialized training in betrayal trauma, sex/love confusion, and problematic sexual and eating behaviors in women and queer folkx. 

I offer individual, relationship, and family counseling. This may or may not include Obi the Therapy dog, art, sound healing, nature or Acudetox by the client's request.
