My Story
My journey into counseling is deeply connected to my personal and professional experiences. I am a bilingual, first-generation Mexican American, an Army veteran, a longtime military spouse, and a parent. These experiences have shaped my understanding of resilience, sacrifice, cultural identity, relationships, and the challenges that often accompany major life transitions.
Having experienced military life from several perspectives, I understand that military service can affect not only the individual but the entire family system. Deployments, reintegration, relocation, separation, changing family roles, and the transition into civilian life can place unique pressure on individuals, couples, and families.
As a Marriage and Family Therapy graduate student and clinical intern, I approach counseling with warmth, curiosity, cultural humility, and respect. I provide support in both English and Spanish and recognize the importance of language, culture, family values, and lived experience in the healing process.
I believe you are more than the problems or experiences that brought you to therapy. Together, we can explore your story, recognize your strengths, and identify new possibilities for healing and connection.
Whether you are experiencing relationship concerns, trauma, family conflict, cultural or identity challenges, stress, or a significant life transition, you do not have to navigate it alone.
