Clinical Mental Health Intern
My name is Dub Jones (he/him) and I am a counseling intern. My previous career focused on workplace
psychology, which can be thought of as a work counselor instead of a school counselor. I see each client
as a unique individual with unique experiences, strengths, challenges, and points of view. I pull from a
variety of techniques and tools including cognitive-behavioral therapy (which focuses on how your
thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected), dialectical behavior therapy (which focuses on
managing intense emotional reactions), motivational interviewing (which focuses on finding internal
motivation and drive to change), solution-focused brief therapy (which focuses on doing more of what’s
already working well), and mindfulness (which focuses on developing deeper self-awareness and the
ability to intentionally respond instead of automatically reacting). Clients who choose me tend to be
insightful but stuck - aware that something isn’t working, even if they can’t explain it yet. They aren’t
just looking to feel better, they want to understand themselves, be challenged in the right ways, and
make lasting change.
I will be offering telehealth individual, relationship, family and youth sessions.
